Our Inherent Right to Connection

Did you know that our general current worldview has been based on a distortion that has been rocking our world for quite a while now? That is the worldview which has been influenced by those who latched onto Darwins theory of evolution – and created a term called “survival of the fittest”. What this means in interpretation is the strong survive, and the best win. This thought form has been dominating our collective worldview and I believe, among others, it is wrecking havoc on our lives and all of the earth and its inhabitants.

We are not islands meant to go at it alone. We are deeply connected beings, connected to not only each other and our communities, but also we are connected to such far off things as the sun. In the past number of years it has come to my attention that the universe is a mutually supportive place to be living in. Nature, scientists are finding out, is mutually supportive. There is cross-support between pieces, and support among mutual species throughout all of the earth. When pondered further, we’ve known this for a long time. What about the little orange and white fish that lives in the sea anemone (aka. Nemo in Finding Nemo)? We’ve known about those two forever, but it hasn’t been broadcast how important that is. Well, times are changing and people are starting to talk about the supportive nature of the universe. Why have we not been tapping into this reality before? Its because we’ve been caught up by the world view that “only the best win”, and “I have to get mine” and “there’s not enough to go around”.

This just isn’t true. What a relief! I think this “discovered” reality that has always been there is going to become more and more known to us all, and slowly but surely we’re going to find our way back to a more happy existence than we’ve ever known. We’ve come far with technological advances, but our societies still suffer deeply. We don’t have to suffer. We really are connected to each other, and everyone is equally important, to know this is a deeply beautiful truth.
